TONIGHT AT VBS... Day 1: Encounter in the Temple Passage: Luke 2:41-52 Point: Jesus knew why He came. Key Verse: For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. (John 6:38) As children learn about the encounter between the teachers, Jesus, and Mary and Joseph in the temple, they won’t be able to escape the fact that Jesus knew He is God’s Son when He stayed in “His Father’s house.” Jesus also knew that He had come to earth for a reason. This reason was to do God’s will. That plan led Jesus straight to the cross to die for our sins. Source: https://vbs.lifeway.com/2018/11/16/every-day-lifts-up-the-gospel/

(Luke 15:20) And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us...from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39) Prayer: Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him, my salvation and my God. My soul is cast down within me; therefore I remember You... (Psalm 42:5-6)

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by His grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of His blood—to be received by faith... (Romans 3:23-25)

SERMON - Sunday, June 9: Lessons from James Online - www.firstbaptistcorinth.org/sermons Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. (James 1:2-4) For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13) Prayer: Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; He will surely do it. (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24)
